The department is commited to being a department of choice. All students who are admitted in the Institute must learn some form of computer literacy irrespective of their area of specialization. The department is also commited to serve the entire institute in the matters related to ICT.
By choosing our programmes, prospective graduates are sure of attaining excellent grades to acquire market driven jobs to effectively compete in employment and job creation.
The department has excellent infrastructure with four fully equipped computer laboratories. Internet services are readily available to students at the resource Centre and WiFi at selected points in the institute.
Teaching services are offered by lecturers employed by Teachers Service Commission and Part Time Lecturers when need arises. Two Computer Technicians are employed in the department and trainees on internships occassionally undertake their programmes in the department.

P.C. Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute started in 1979 as a Technical Secondary School with a population of 160 students.
The vision to establish the Technical School was borne by His Excellency, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the First President of the Republic of Kenya.
